Wild About Wetlands
June 24 - 28 (Ages 7-9); 9am to 4pm
What's in the water?! During this camp, young explorers will spend a week scooping into the Chintimini pond to find tadpoles, salamanders, and baby dragonflies. We'll also dive into learning about things unseen by the naked eye with microscopes and water testing! We'll explore different freshwater habitats such as vernal ponds, streams, and rivers to learn all about water and the creatures who live in it.
July 8 - 12 (Ages 7-12); 9am to 4pm
From big to small, we'll explore it all! Turn over logs, scoop the pond, and roam the forest in search of many wiggling, slithering, sliding, and hopping invertebrates. We will examine the ground right below our feet to discover what these creatures eat, where they hide, and how they escape hungry predators. We'll practice ?following animal tracks, searching for signs of wildlife, and looking out for different forms of animal communication. We will examine real animal artifacts and learn about the unique adaptations local wildlife has evolved to help them survive.
July 15 - 19 (Ages 7-9); 9am to 4pm
They soar, sing, hunt, and glide. From tiny hummingbirds to magnificent owls, campers will love learning all about birds! Campers will become honorary ornithologists (bird scientists) for a week and learn what it means to be a bird. Prepare to dissect pellets from our resident birds of prey and see what raptors are eating!
