Specialized Diet

Each ambassador raptor receives a diet that is individualized to their species needs as well as any medical or nutritional requirements that the raptor has

Enrichment

In order to keep all of the raptor’s minds and bodies healthy, enrichment and training are key components of their everyday work. These can take the form of dog toys, special foods, or even spoons (looking at you, Ruth!).

Enclosure Maintenance

The enclosures (or “mews”) that house the ambassador raptors require typical mainentance including roofing repairs, new perches, new heating lamps (for the migratory Turkey Vultures), and more!

Junior and Ferdinand, Turkey Vultures, enjoy their heat lamps in the winter when their wild counterparts have headed south.
