Ferdinand the Turkey Vulture
Ferdinand was found as a juvenile, alone and unable to fly in the autumn of 2009. He was brought to the Chintimini Wildlife Center and diagnosed with Metabolic Bone Disease. This meant he had not received enough calcium as a chick and his bones are very brittle. He receives daily care to combat his disease, but it has not stopped him from being an amazing addition to our Education Program! Ferdinand loves going for walks with his handlers and playing tug-of-war with his enrichment items. He has helped educate hundreds of people and has received many letters of appreciation from his fans!
