Youth Education Program Policies
Safety Policies & Procedures
- Program sizes are limited depending on the ages of campers. Our maximum camper-to-staff ratio is 10:1, 9:1 for younger age groups
- All program participants are expected to follow our behavior protocols. Participants who do not follow behavior protocols may be dismissed from the program.
- Campers are expected to be respectful and kind. Any camper that threatens or causes physical or mental harm to another human or animal will not be allowed to participate in future camps and be dismissed from the current camp.
- Campers are expected to participate and not be disruptive. Campers that continuously refuse to participate in camp activities, disrupt activities and distract other campers may be dismissed from camp. (This does not include campers that are not able to participate in certain activities due to medical reasons.)
- Campers are expected to follow rules given to them by CWC Staff. Campers caught continuously breaking rules may be dismissed from camp.
- Drop-off/Pick-up:
- Campers are to be dropped off daily between 8:45 – 9:00 am at Chintimini Wildlife Center (311 NW Lewisburg Ave. Corvallis, OR).
- Early drop offs will not be permitted
- Campers are to be picked up between 3:00 – 3:15 pm by an authorized adult unless the child is enrolled in aftercare.
- Aftercare can be from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm, and campers need to be signed up for aftercare at least the week prior to their camp week. Pre-registered After Care is $25/day. Late sign ups will incur an additional $10 per hour.
- Aftercare campers will need to be picked up by 5:30 pm
- Authorized adults must sign their child in and out and will be asked to provide photo ID at pick up. Only those authorized to pick up a camper (provided at time of registration) will be allowed to do so.
- Campers must bring their own food (lunch and snacks), water bottles, sunscreen, and any other items they may need during the day. Campers must be able to apply their own sunscreen.
- Campers are to be dropped off daily between 8:45 – 9:00 am at Chintimini Wildlife Center (311 NW Lewisburg Ave. Corvallis, OR).
- If your child appears or is feeling sick, they will be isolated from other campers and sent home. Please keep your child at home if they have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19, RSV or other contagious illness. Additionally, if they are experiencing illness symptoms, please do not bring your child to camp. If a child is found to be experiencing illness symptoms during a camp day, their parent/guardian/emergency contact will be contacted to bring them home.
