Ruth the Great Horned Owl

Ruth fell out of her nest in 2020 and injured both of her wings. She was brought to the Cascades Raptor Center and after realizing she would not be able to fly well enough to hunt, she was transferred to the Chintimini Wildlife Center to be part of our Raptor Education Program. Ruth can still fly short distances and loves to stretch her wings as best as she can in our flight aviary. She is very excited to see her caretakers each morning and greets them with hoots and screeches. Ruth loves toys; her favorite is her Holee-Roller, which she carries around her enclosure in her talons. She is very observant and is always keen to see the tour groups that come by!
